The Olympic & Paralympic Games

The Olympic and Paralympic Games, held every four years, have a profound and lasting impact on the entire globe in many different aspects.

Internationally, out of the whole globe, the first ever official Olympic Games were held in Ancient Greece in 776 BC (Before Christ) and the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896 at Athens (also in Greece). The Greek community is always highly respected at most of the Olympic Ceremonies.

But how, especially, do these games impact the globe and certain countries? Well, it is a fair win-win for both spectators and the government as spectators and fans get to support these countries showing their excessive pride and unity towards their countries and also a fair win for the government as the economy will boost greatly, but will have to come from an investment infrastructure may be too much out of economy funds.

Fun Fact! The cheapest Olympic infrastructure funding for the games was from the latest Olympic Games in Paris 2024 with a budget of 8.9 billion Euros, equivalent to AUD 15.6 billion, orpreciselyAUD 15,602,723,500.00!

But listen here, don't go asking for your government yet about competing in the next Olympic election for your country to be selected for the next games, there are some requirements held by the Olympic Commissioners that your government needs to have all to be ticked.

Here are some of the requirements they have added:

  • Geopolitical, socio-economic, human development and environmental factors.
  • Vision and venue masterplan.
  • Alignment with existing long-term development plans.
  • Envisaged sustainability and legacy impacts.
  • Political and public support.
  • Funding strategy.

Some disadvantages may include:

  • Fully booked in Accommodation or Hotel services.
  • Terrorist attacks.
  • Emotional distress.
  • Often crimes.
  • Large crowds.

In the end, the Olympics and Paralympics are games that celebrate unity and peace over racism and discrimination to havea peaceful world that will continue to strive along the international countries. Let's keep celebrating for our countries keep the discrimination and racism out of this path and let the peace and unity keep with us.
